With his alma mater's recent tragedy not far from his mind,
Saunders got special permission in the form of a phone call from
MLB Commissioner Bud Selig about two hours before game time to wear
a Virginia Tech cap during his start, and he turned the opportunity
into one of the better outings of his young career at a time when
his team sorely needed a victory. More

The Bethesda Blue Caps will join the CGL for the 2007 Season.
Preliminary plans call for a 12 team schedule of 44 games (including
12 MCBL interleague contests).
CGL Announces Inter-League Play for 2007 Season
The Clark Griffith League has forged a partnership with the
Maryland Collegiate Baseball League (MCBL, formally the Eddie Brooks
League) for the 2007 summer season. Current plans include inter-league
play primarily on weekends throughout the season, and a mid-summer
All-Star Game between the two Leagues. |
